I would love to donate CPU cycles to all those who need it, particularly if it serves a research that may result in benefits for all humanity, but the s/w is Microsoft Windows and GNU/Linux only. :/

I know, this is not an excuse since I can boot into Windows anytime.

That's not what I meant.
But if I'm gonna donate anything I'd rather donate it to an Arabic university or at least not-American university.

Stanford University is one of the leading universities in scientific research, especially in the field of medicine. It's name -as it is to MIT and Berkley- is highly recognized among scientific societies.

If it helps, we are donating to the Folding@Home project which clearly is peace-oriented, and has nothing to do with political differences!

I didn't quite get what you mean by "they didn't till Sharon to commit war crimes". Your post may need an edit to turn it to proper English.

It is insane to think that I, or another, is justifying war crimes the Bush administration or the Zionist regime have committed against humanity, but hang in there, what makes you bring Israeli universities into context? What makes you conclude that I, or another, may be willing to donate cycles to an Israeli university because we are willing to donate cycles to an US-based research group? If you insist, then you must be one of those unfortunates who don't differentiate between a regime and people, which is a pity.

It is unquestionable that our universities are in terrible need of organization, funds and experts, and their contribution to the progress and the prosperity of the nation is still next to non-existent.

However, care to remember that all of medicaments, since that is our topic, we use are developed in Europe or US research labs. Perhaps some of us wouldn't have the chance to make it this far if it wasn't for the vaccination programs we underwent during childhood, so it is ironic, to say the least, to show such a strong reaction of refusal to help a US-based medical research group when, one way or another, we will continue benefitting from the work of US or Europe research labs.

So I understand from you that you are not willing to donate cycles to an Israeli university. Why is that can't you "differentiate between a regime and people" ?!!
I'm not willing to donate anything to an American university but that does't mean that I hate the American people.

Did I say I won't? I didn't. Once again wrong conclusion, foaad.

FYI, I'm ready to donate my soul do the Devil if he will do better things for humanity than what God has been able to do. Period.

I've got good news. I've been able to run the GNU/Linux client on FreeBSD, and have enrolled both of the machines on the network into the F@H CSC-SY group. Currently the WinXP machine is already working on a unit and the FreeBSD machine is downloading a new unit.

Because no one has submitted any finished units yet, units take time to get processed.

Be patient, download a unit, let your PC work on it, once finished and uploaded, your name will be there.

Those who haven't tackled it yet take it into account that a single unit may take more than a day to complete. Both of the computers here are working and the other machine will reportedly finish its unit tomorrow around 21:00, if it works non-stop of course. The unit on the machine I'm using may take 48 hours..

I'm sorry I had to use my real name because there appears to be another donor named strontium90. :/
