بدي أسأل شو الفرق من ناحية التعلم
لينوكس ريد هات
عن suse
fedro
.....
و غيرها من الأسماء
يعني أصدي هي مجرد أسماء للإصدارات أم تختلف من ناحية التعلم
أي معلومة عن هادا الموضوع بكون ممنونة
و شكرا" سلفا"

لأ, ما في فرق. برأيي افضل توزيعة منتشرة حاليّا هي Kubuntu و في كمان Suze منيحة.

Then let me say that my preference goes to Gentoo, because it allows you more freedom to set up every bit in your system to meet your use and taste. But this doesn't make Gentoo "better" than SuSE, Fedora or Kubuntu. In any case, you should've outlined your background and why you'd like to use a Linux system in your first post for people to be able to give you better recommendations. On a separate note, if you're allergic to reading and conducting research to come up with your own conclusions, then you cannot survive on any Unix or Unix-like platform, even if it is the easiest-to-handle of Linux distros. Good luck anyway.

Here in the company we use CentOS Linux
It's very nice and professional , but the problem is it's commercial

We use Ubuntu linux in our company, I think it's the beast. BTW : They deliver the CDs to Syria for free !

Well, in our company we use Windows XP OS  it's Professional (edition that is) 
And I use Vista OS at home, It's Ultimate (edition too)
And in my PocketPC I have Windows Mobile 5.0 (I've just flashed it a few days ago  )
So if I have to recommend a distro it would be... PC-BSD
Seriously, I think it's a nice OS. FreeBSD, a graphical installer and PBI. I know it's not even Linux but I bet a novice user won't be able to tell the difference!
I think I'll try to install the 1.3 version soon. I haven't been able to install 1.2 -last year- due to a bug in the graphical installer (can't I have my cake and eat it too ) which prevented it from recognizing my RAID array, I hope they've fixed it.

شو قصدك من ناحية التعلم؟
يعني من الناحية الأكاديمية ولا من ناحية تعلم الاستخدام؟
لأنو من الناحية الأكاديمية التركيز بكون على أوامر shell وبرمجة shell ويلي هي تقريباً نفسها بكل نسخ Linux وحتى Unix (تقريباً)
أما من ناحية الاستخدام اليومي بجوز يكون في بعض الفروقات بين بعض النسخ وكمان في بعضها متشابه جداً.
بالنهاية اذا الواحد تعلم أساسيات نظام Unix (ويلي هو مو أمر سهل أبداً) ممكن يشتغل على أي اصدار Linux أو Unix
بالحقيقة تجريب عدة توزيعات قبل الاستقرار على وحدة كمان شي مسلي ومفيد نوعاُ ما

And neither one of you guys did tell The Lion King why do you think your distro of choice is the best! She said "و ليش؟" that's mean "and why؟"

Foaad I mean from academic side..
All the story that I have seen many books ,each book of them learn u linux in one of these distros..
Also the book difference in size..
so I couldn't decide which book is the best to buy,to start to learn with..
As I told u before I interest more in academic side..
any way thanx alot for all who replying & telling us what their company use..

أنا بصراحة حالياً عبشتغل عالسوزي وهو كتير مريح
بس في غيرو كتير وأحدث وأقوى وأثبت منو متل الديبيان
والأوبينتو والفيدورا...
هلأ من ناحية التعلم فالتعليمات هي نفسها بكل التوزيعات
بس الاختلاف الأساسي بيكمن بطريقة تشغيل الخدمات، وشوي ببنية
النظام وإدارته وتنزيل البرامج أو الباكجات....

My brother (year-four, aeronautics) is moving to Unix, so I had him to try PC-BSD on his desktop, and much to my surprise, I found the installer to be particularly inflexible with regards to choices that one can make, and too much non-trivial post-installation work was left to be done. Not that I cannot do these, remember I install and configure FreeBSD from scratch, but this is totally unacceptable for a release aimed at desktop users who don't have to know much about the system and need to be able to install and configure it at a snap. For example the 3Com 3C940 gigabit network adapter, which works under my FreeBSD installation, mysteriously didn't configure, although the sk kernel module is loaded and the miibus driver is in the kernel. rc.conf, the primary system services configuration file, needed tweaks because it was full of junk since the installer didn't asked and made some decisions on its own e.g. why assume that I'll run Samba? What if I wanted NFS? There were many annoying bits in KDE settings, one particularly annoying phenomenon was when you insert a CD in the drive, read from it, then remove it an insert another one, Konqueror will still show you the contents of the old CD. Yes, you can unmount first, then insert the new CD, but this is something that a desktop user who doesn't know much about the system internals won't be able to guess. Of course all of these bits are workable, but then, what would be the difference between installing and configuring from the official FreeBSD release and PC-BSD? That's why my brother installed Kubuntu, and looks like he's having much fun with it. I wonder what DesktopBSD is like at this point.. |

Strange! OSWeekly have called it The Most Beginner Friendly OS!
I dunno but it looks like DesktopBSD is less mature than PC-BSD and has fewer features.
