I think the topic i want to discuss is obvious from the subject .... Anyway, I have a DELL laptop with 512 M.B memory Iwant to upgrade it .. I looked in the DELL.com site it was so useful they gave me some recommendations .. one of these recommendations is 2 G.B memory with two options,first:two pieces as total 2 G.B , but i only have 1 free slot .. is that mean that i have to remove "512" then put in each slot 1 G.B ???

the second one is 2 G.B one piece .. so how it will work ?? 2 G.B + 512 M.B???

Which is better???

Also I wana know If anyone here tried this thing ...and if i can find these pieces in our stores??.....

I think it's a matter of hardware nothing more
the issue of putting two pieces of ram instead of one larger is ok in both ways but all u have to do is to call the supplier or even DELL tech Support
to upgrade this Computer
and as far as i can see i can advice u to call dell department store but i don't know if it exist at the first place in Syria

and no u can't get a Laptop ram from stores in here
don't u know about the whiteBox Laptops it's not exist in here but in the matter infact this whitebox idea is so great and this idea gives u the freedom to upgrade ur laptop as u can upgrade ur pc but it has no mark name so it would be like getting parts from here and others from somewhere else
on the other hand if u had bought a Marked laptop
then u're gonna have to upgrade it from the original supplier
