Playing with Powerset: search shows promise, has challengesأرسل من قبل eng.samar في الثلاثاء, 2008/05/13 - 2:59pm.
Powerset is new startup that isn't happy with the current state of search. The company aims to "change the way people interact with technology by enabling computers to understand our language," and its first undertaking is a "search and discovery experience for Wikipedia." Powerset allows users to search the crowdsourced tome of knowledge with keywords, phrases, or full questions, then presents aggregated results with images, tags, and snippets of information. Ars Technica goes spelunking to see if Powerset's natural language processing technology and unique UI will help users see digital daylight.
Powerset's landing page features the de-facto barren search box, along with an expandable set of search tips that also let users know that they can use plain language. Search keywords like "cat" are presented alongside phrases like "what are the ingredients in beer." This is a smart way to introduce users to the different ways that Powerset works, though some users may find their questions going unanswered as the engine has only indexed a quarter of Wikipedia's 10 million articles ( )
I liked the "Article
![]() I liked the "Article Outline" box Try this ( "search tips & examples" in Powerset) What movies has Jodie Foster starred in? - Powerset What movies has Jodie Foster starred in? - Google Powerset understood that I was looking for information about Jodie's movies not about Jodie herself, her biography or something the like, so the results were about Jodie's movies.

"when does google start"
Well, it should be:"When did Google start" And in this case you would get a correct answer from Google too. If you want an opposite example try "what does asap mean?" in both.
