يوجد نسخة معربة هنا. Many years ago in a small village, a farmer had the misfortune of owing a large sum of money to a village moneylender. The Moneylender, who was old and ugly, fancied the farmer's beautiful Daughter. So he proposed a bargain. He said he would forgo the farmer's debt if he could marry his Daughter. Both the farmer and his daughter were horrified by the Proposal. So the cunning money-lender suggested that they let providence decide the matter. He told them that he would put a black pebble and a white pebble into an empty money bag, then the girl would have to pick one pebble from the bag: 1) If she picked the black pebble, she would become his wife and her father's debt would be forgiven. 2) If she picked the white pebble she need not marry him and her father's debt would still be forgiven. 3) But if she refused to pick a pebble, her father would be thrown into Jail. They were standing on a pebble strewn path in the farmer's field. As they talked, the moneylender bent over to pick up two pebbles; as he Picked them up, the sharp-eyed girl noticed that he had picked up two black pebbles and put them into the bag. He then asked the girl to pick a pebble from the bag. Now, imagine that you were standing in the field. What would you do if you were the girl? If you had to advise her, what would you tell her? Careful analysis would produce three possibilities: 1) The girl should refuse to take a pebble. 2) The girl should show that there were two black pebbles in the bag and expose the money-lender's cheat. 3) The girl should pick a black pebble and sacrifice herself in order to save her father from his debt and imprisonment. Take a moment to ponder over the story. The above story is used with the hope that it will make us appreciate the difference between lateral and logical thinking. The girl's dilemma cannot be solved with traditional logical thinking. Think of the consequences; if she chooses the above logical answers. What would you recommend the Girl to do? Well, here is what she did: The girl put her hand into the moneybag and drew out a pebble. Without looking at it, she fumbled and let it fall onto the pebble-strewn path where it immediately became lost among all the other pebbles. "Oh, how clumsy of me," she said. "But never mind, if you look into the bag for the one that is left, you will be able to tell which pebble I picked." Since the remaining pebble is black, it must be assumed that she had picked the white one. And since the money-lender dared not admit his dishonesty, the girl changed what seemed an impossible situation into an extremely advantageous one. MORAL OF THE STORY: Most complex problems do have a solution, it is only that we don't attempt to think.

في قديم الزمان وفي قرية صغيرة, عاش مزارع مع ابنته الجميلة, وكان من سوء حظ ذلك المزارع أنه يدين لأحد المرابين بمبلغ ٍ كبير ٍ من المال. هذا المرابي - الذي كان بشعا ً وكبيرا ً – كان معجبا ً بابنة الفلاح الجميلة. فقام المرابي بعرض صفقة على الفلاح, قال له: "سأتنازل عن الدين إن زوجتني ابنتك". كلا الفلاح وابنته ذعرا من عرض المرابي, لذلك اقترح المرابي الماكر أن يقرر القدر في هذه المسألة, فقال لهم: "سأقوم بوضع حصاة بيضاء وحصاة سوداء في كيس نقود, وتقوم الفتاة بسحب إحداها, فيكون لديها الاحتمالات التالية: 1) إذا سحبت الحصاة السوداء, ستصبح زوجتي وسأتنازل عن الدين. 2) إذا سحبت الحصاة البيضاء, لن تصبح زوجتي ولكن سأتنازل عن الدين. 3) إذا رفضت أن تسحب حصاة, سيدخل أباها السجن." كانت المجموعة تقف على طريق مفروش بالحصى في أرض الفلاح, وبينما هم يتحدثون انحنى المرابي والتقط حصاتين, بينما هو يلتقطهما لاحظت الفتاة ذات العيون الحادة بأن المرابي قد التقط حصاتين سوداوين ووضعهم في الكيس. طلب المرابي من الفتاة ان تسحب حصاة من الكيس. والآن تخيل أنك كنت تقف معهم في ذلك الحقل, ماذا كنت ستفعل لو كنت مكان الفتاة؟ إذا كنت ستنصحها, ماذا ستقول لها؟ التحليل المنطقي لن يجد سوى ثلاثة خيارات: 1) أن ترفض الفتاة سحب أي حصاة, وبالتالي يلقى أباها بالسجن. 2) أن تفضح الفتاة أمر المرابي وأن تفضح غشه بأنه وضع حصاتين سوداوتين في الكيس. 3) أن تسحب الفتاة حصاة سوداء وان تضحي بنفسها لإنقاذ أبيها من السجن. خذ دقيقة لتتأمل في القصة, هذه القصة تهدف لأن تميز بين التفكير المنطقي والتفكير المتميز, فكر في عواقب الأمر فيما لو اختارت أحد الأجوبة المنطقية السابقة, ماذا ستنصح الفتاة أن تفعل؟
حسنا ً, هذا ما فعلته الفتاة: وضعت الفتاة يدها في كيس النقود, وقامت بسحب حصاة. ودون أن تنظر إليها ارتبكت وأسقطت الحصاة على الطريق المفروش بالحصى وضاعت الحصاة بين الحصى التي في الطريق, قالت الفتاة: "يالسذاجتي!, لا تقلقوا, إذا نظرنا ضمن الكيس وتفقدنا الحصاة الباقية سنعرف ما لون الحصاة التي التقطتها". وبما أن الحصاة الباقية كانت سوداء, فلا بد أن يعتقدوا أنها التقطت الحصاة البيضاء. وبما أن المرابي لن يفضح غشه أمام الناس, فالفتاة ستكون حولت الموقف من موقف مستحيل الحل إلى موقف يعود عليها بالفائدة الكبيرة. العبرة من القصة: معظم المسائل الصعبة يكون لها حل, إنما نحن من لا نفكر فيه.  هاي القصة و أنا و صغير كانت والدتي ( الله يخليلي ياها ) تحكيلي ياها بس مع شوية تغيير يعني بدال الحصى كانت أوراق و بدال ما توقع الحصى على الأرض كانت الفتاة تأكل الورقة من شان ما حدى يعرف شو الورقة اللي اختارتها الله يجزيك الخير اخي عبد الله  الله يجزيك الخير اخي عبد الله

Amazing choise ... I thought immediately about ..telling about the cheating thingy .. but really its a great moral to learn how to use attempt before .. making any comments..
