What this "hacker" has done is no more than cracking...
i'd be more impressed if he hacked a website...
because when you crack a program, nobody is trying to trace you or even knows you are cracking his program...
(sheesh ... hacking websites is accelerating)
i'd say he's a normal cracker, but everybody makes mistakes... including me....
so, i'm looking forward to see him hacking, because he looks smart !!!!!!

I have seen some products with signature of Abdul-Rahman Mahaini
for me i completely agree with the way he look at pirated software
till we cant buy them we will crack them

No, his actions aren't justified.
He admitted to crack software for westerners for a fee. (this obviously has nothing to do with freedom or the US embargo, it doesn't even count as stealing from the rich and giving to the poor -if you believe in such a thing).
It's not that we can't buy genuine software. There is a lot of ways to do that, so lets not use this as an excuse!
Some say we don't want to buy US software (for political reasons), well in that you have two choices 1-steal it. 2-use an alternative! (stealing is wrong/illegal, using an alternative isn't)
So there is really no justification what so ever for stealing software, is there?!

nice guy ..... I really wish that he teach as the programing instead of our great Pro .
and we really should be proud of him .... because he didn't finish his education and did all this !!!....
and I really don't think that some one in Syria would buy a 60 $ game....... because we are not allll so rich ..... So please stop telling me that we should only buy the genuine software . or only use the free software!!!???
and if you see at the most positive side you will see that he's helping us more than he is harming the others ..... and this belongs to his Conscience

First of all you don't NEED Windows, VS, Oracle etc..
You need an OS, IDE, RDBMS etc...
Anyway for software like Windows and Visual Studio (which AFAIK aren't included in the embargo) but no one imports them because there is no market.
You can purchase and download some of them online from sites such as http://www.direct2drive.com and http://www.almomiz.com (although the last one is a little bit suspicious, but you got the idea)
And for software that is under the embargo you should use the alternative.
You could somewhat justify the usage of pirated software if there was no other way around it, but this is not the case -no matter how much we like it to be- there are alternatives, and at worst case we can make our own alternative.
If I make a product I have every right not to sell it to you, that doesn't give you the right to steal it.

Yes MySql is one alternative, BUT not the only one.
Really like Oracle? use Oracle XE it's freely available to any one (even Syrians).

I agree with foaad, the guy is a friggin unethical cracker pirate, nothing more, nothing less.

cummon guys.....spread the peace....
because they were dumb enough to make "crackable" software...
we're smart enough to crack it and use it!!!!
by the way....not all alternatives are better.....
you know... free software might not contain these little things that we always need....
free software are occasionally dumb... hard to use...or there nothing in it to use!!!!!
we are not stealing...we are borrowing thier software until they make thier products "affordable"....
that was my opinion.....

i think that what i said was clear.... the last two lines were just for fun....

So far, advocates of software piracy have failed to refute any of the following:
1. It is unethical to steal goods from someone who does not want to sell these goods to you. It is totally up to the owner to decide whom to sell goods to. If the owner does not want to sell goods to you, you have to good elsewhere. The owner's decision does not justify stealing in any way.
2. The vast majority of software that is pirated in Syria can be bought through legal means. Most software vendors are willing to sell to Syrians if a credit card is used online or if you buy from a store outside Syria. The lack of credit card availability in Syria is not the vendor's problem. You have to complain about this to local banks. Again, there is no justification for piracy whatsoever if you cannot pay.
3. Most, if not all of pirated programs have free alternatives. To refute, please provide a real-life scenario in which this statement does not hold. And yes, being used to a specific piece of commercial software, lacking the basic familiarity with Open Source software, and lacking the will to learn something new are all unacceptable excuses.
Instead of turning the discussion into an ad hominem by attacking a person instead of an idea, consider addressing the points above. Back up your claims with reasons and facts. Until then, software piracy will remain unethical, illegal and unjustified, regardless of whom does it or why.
And rest assured that nobody here will ban you only because they disagree with you.

Definitely,the pirated software are illegal if we go into the religion side.Therfore nobody has the right to use them under any circumstances.
IMHO,this issue has no chance to get solved UNLESS there will be some deterrent laws that stop using the pirated software like those laws which applied in some Arab countries like Gulf for example.
